I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 25 years of experience. I received my training in South Africa (BA Social Work at University of the Witwatersrand, MSW at the University of South Africa). I have worked in in-patient and out-patient mental health facilities, and was the director of a non-profit for ten years. For the past fifteen years, I have been privileged to work in the area I am so passionate about - private practice therapy to adults.

Every day I get to see people grapple with the issues that have been confounding them, and every day I am awe-struck by the power of the human spirit to make progress. I believe in the incremental approach of skills building, gradually and at a pace that is comfortable for the client. I see it as my responsibility to provide a safe and warm environment where my clients can work on their issues, while feeling supported and empowered. I am eclectic in my philosophy, and will draw from a variety of schools of thought as they fit the client's needs. In general, I am solution focused and frequently draw from cognitive behavioral therapy, especially when focusing on anxiety, depression and pain management.

Once we believe in ourselves, we can risk curiosity, wonder, spontaneous delight, or any experience that reveals the human spirit.
